Our
congregation loves music, making it a joy for our choir to respond, to
rehearse weekly for an hour or two without fail, and to bring heart and
soul to each Sunday's anthem. It's no wonder that the rest of us
join enthusiastically in the singing of the hymns, with organist
Rob taking full advantage of the organ's powers.
At full strength, with Rob also singing tenor, the choir
numbers eight souls, enough to sing in four-part harmony. A children's
choir adds six or seven more singers for special occasions and we add
still
more community singers from time to time. For Holy Week we have
had
eighteen voices in the chorus plus four string players and an oboist.
We have bell players now and then, and we
are grateful to the Tinmouth Congregational Society for raising the
funds to purchase a three-octave set of English Handbells, to be played
by community bell choirs throughout the town of Tinmouth, as well as in
church services.
If you like to sing, to play, or to listen and enjoy music, join us any
Sunday at nine in the morning for a truly unforgettable experience!
